Response to the Access to Justice Review
We welcome the Government’s response to the recommendations identified by report of the Access to Justice Review
Victoria Law Foundation welcomes the release of the Government’s response to the recommendations identified by the 2016 Department of Justice and Regulation report of the Access to Justice Review and significant additional financial commitment to the Victorian justice system.
Under the response the foundation will take on the key role in the legal sector as a centre of excellence for data analysis, research, and evaluation on access to justice, legal assistance and civil justice issues.
The foundation will continue to provide civics education about the justice system through its school-based program and through Law Week, as well as provide plain-language training. We will continue to publish plain language information on civics related matters.
‘I am extremely proud of the foundation’s work and what we have achieved to date. Although some of our purposes will change, I have complete faith we will continue to excel in everything we do,’ said Joh Kirby, Executive Director of Victoria Law Foundation.
The foundation looks forward to working with Department of Justice and Regulation to bring about these significant changes.
