We are delighted to announce the appointment of a Research Director to lead the new research function at Victoria Law Foundation.
We extend a warm welcome to Dr Nigel Balmer, currently Professor of Law and Social Statistics at University College London, who joins us in December.
Dr Balmer has 20 years’ experience in empirical legal research and is at the forefront of legal needs analysis in the UK and globally.
This appointment gives us the potential to build a research function which can make a critical contribution to the Victorian justice system. Dr Balmer will undertake research in access to justice, legal services and civil justice, strengthening the evidence base to guide effective policy and service delivery.
