Metropolitan Law Talks

Every year we run two full-day events that connect VCE Legal Studies students in Melbourne with the Victorian legal system.

Our Metropolitan Law Talks program is on hold following government health advice on the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to resuming the program when safe. Please register your interest below and we’ll contact you when we’re back up and running.

What are Metropolitan Law Talks?

We organise Law Week Law Talks and Metro Law Talks every year in May and July.

VCE students from across Melbourne are invited to attend a day of presentations directly related to the Legal Studies curriculum. We arrange a variety of speakers across Victoria’s legal sector to help students link the lessons learnt in classrooms with the real world. Presenters have included Juries Victoria, the Ombudsman, VLRC and university law school professors.

Who can attend?

All VCE Legal Studies students in metropolitan Melbourne are eligible to attend Metropolitan Law Talks. Priority early registration is given to students attending disadvantaged schools as identified by the ICSEA.

Metropolitan Law Talks occur in venues around the city and these venues dictate the number of students who can attend. We can usually accommodate up to 200 students in each session.
